چکیده

The paper describes results from a simulation model of rural land use, focusing on how the relative advantages of imitative and non-imitative approaches to land use selection change under diierent circumstances. It is shown that the success ofìmitation' depends in quite complex ways on the type of imitation used, the strategies of other agents with which the imitator is interacting, and aspects of the heterogeneity of the environment.

Altered brain activation during action imitation and observation in schizophrenia: a translational approach to investigating social dysfunction in schizophrenia.

OBJECTIVE Social impairments are a key feature of schizophrenia, but their underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. Imitation, a process through which we understand the minds of others, involves the so-called mirror neuron system, a network comprising the inferior parietal lobe, inferior frontal gyrus, and posterior superior temporal sulcus. The authors examined mirror neuron system functio...

Land Use Change Simulation Using CLUE-s Model in the Watershed of Doroodzan Dam

Land use change is an essential determinant factor in hydrological processes and it affects many of them. Simulation of land use changes, rise in residential and agricultural area and its effects are among the most important issues related to the watershed management. The objective of this research is land use change detection in the past and simulation of future land use using CLUE-s Model. At...

What or when? The impact of anticipated social action effects is driven by action-effect compatibility, not delay.

Motor actions are facilitated if they are foreseeably being imitated rather than counterimitated by social partners. Such beneficial effects of anticipated imitation have been explained in terms of compatibility between one's own actions and their anticipated consequences. Previous demonstrations of these effects might alternatively be explained by consistently faster partner responses for imit...

Simulation and prediction of land use and land cover change using GIS, remote sensing and CA-Markov model

This study analyzes the characteristics of land use/land cover change in Jordan’s Irbid governorate, 1984–2018, and predicts future land use/land cover for 2030 and 2050 using a cellular automata-Markov model. The results inform planners and decision makers of past and current spatial dynamics of land use/land cover change and predicted urban expansion, for a better understanding and successful...

Performance comparison of land change modeling techniques for land use projection of arid watersheds

The change of land use/land cover has been known as an imperative force in environmental alteration, especially in arid and semi-arid areas. This research was mainly aimed to assess the validity of two major types of land change modeling techniques via a three dimensional approach in Birjand urban watershed located in an arid climatic region of Iran. Thus, a Markovian approach based on two suit...
